Suspect connected to two separate drive-by shootings in Florence County turns himself in

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A third person has been arrested in connection with two Florence County shootings.

On Thursday, Florence County Sheriff TJ Joye announced that Naasir Timmons,17, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The charges stem from a July 8 drive-by shooting into a vehicle on National Cemetery Road.

Deputies said Timmons turned himself in to the investigators on Thursday.

Investigators have also charged Deontavis Osarion Williams, 21, and Dakarius Rashard Claiborne, 17, with the same charges.

All three have also been charged by the City of Florence Police Department with shooting into a home on Maxwell Street in Florence.

Two suspects charged in two separate drive-by shootings in Florence County

According to police, a residence was hit by gunfire about 17 times while five people, including two juveniles, were inside.

Police said no injuries were reported.

Police said witness information, video evidence and FLOCK cameras were used during the investigation to help locate the suspects.

An arrest warrant states police reviewed video that showed a suspect shooting at the home and then running away before a black Dodge Ram was seen speeding to the area.

The warrant states investigators later located the truck through FLOCK cameras. The owner of the vehicle told police she saw the suspects with it before and after the shooting, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit also states one of the suspects’ ankle monitor placed him in the area at the time of the shooting and that the suspect told the vehicle owner to give police someone else’s name.

Williams and Claiborne are being held at the Florence County Detention Center without bond.

Timmons will be held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
