FIRST ALERT: Building heat and humidity through the weekend
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Temperatures and humidity will continue to increase through the end of the week and last through the upcoming weekend.
Thursday
Plenty of sunshine is expected today with a rain-free forecast. Temperatures will climb to around 90 on the beaches and into the low-mid 90s inland.

As humidity builds, the heat index will pass 100° today and climb to near 105° along the beaches.

Into the Weekend
Summer heat holds strong for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Highs will gradually climb into the lower 90s for the Grand Strand from Friday through Sunday. Inland areas will see temperatures reach into the middle 90s.

Our humidity levels will return to the STEAMY and MISERABLE range once again, resulting in a heat index increasing to over 105 by Friday and through the weekend. Heat Advisories may once again be issued for the area later this week and through the weekend.

The rest of the work week looks dry, with the next risk of showers and storms holding off until isolated chance of a pop up storm return on Saturday. The latest data this morning, shows the best chance for the weekend arriving for the Pee Dee on Sunday. With enough humidity and heat, a couple strong storms cannot be ruled out for Sunday.
