Building catches fire in Florence County

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Thursday afternoon, the Florence County Fire Rescue was called to a building fire in the Pamplico community.

At approximately 1:55 p.m., FCFR said they were called to the 200 block of E. Main Street, where callers reported the fire at either the Yellowhamer Liquor Store or a nearby gas station.

Upon arriving at the scene, crew members say the commercial building was fully in flames with adjacent buildings in danger of igniting.

Reports say crews controlled the fire within an hour and remain on site to ensure it is completely out.

Traffic delays are to be expected in the area until emergency operations are complete.

Florence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
