Coroner IDs man killed in Darlington County shooting

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Darlington County coroner released the name of the 21-year-old killed in Monday’s afternoon shooting.

Another person shot and killed Chandler Martin, of Florence, about 2 p.m. on Piano Road in the Darlington area, according to Coroner Todd Hardee.

Hardee pronounced Martin dead at the scene.

According to a news release from Darlington County Sheriff Michael August, deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Piano Road and South Charleston Road.

August said the shooting was isolated, and there was no immediate danger to the public.

The investigation is ongoing.
