LAURINBURG, NC (WMBF) - According to the Laurinburg Police Department, a former cheer coach in North Carolina is being investigated.

The investigation began in February after Rebecca McAllister of Fierce Allstars cheerleading received payments for uniforms and competitions but allegedly kept the money.

Police say McAllister abruptly shut down the business without the team members receiving their uniforms or attending the competitions.

She surrendered herself to officers on Wednesday morning

McAllister was served with warrants for arrest for 22 counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.

She was placed in the Scotland County Detention Center and released on a $22,000 bond.

She was on pre-trial release of similar charges from Richmond County.
