1 dead after shooting in Dillon County, sheriff confirms

DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - One person is dead after a Sunday afternoon shooting in Dillon County, according to the county’s sheriff.
Dillon County Sheriff Jamie Hamilton said that the shooting happened on Smutherman Drive off Highway 9 in the Riverdale Community near Dillon.
Hamilton also confirmed that the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is helping with the investigation.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
