Myrtle Beach man sentenced for luring woman with Craigslist ad, sexually assaulting her

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - A man accused of luring his victim on Craigslist with a modeling ad was sentenced Tuesday for sexually assaulting her.
According to court records, 33-year-old Paul Joseph Shuler, of Myrtle Beach, was charged in 2015 with sexually assaulting a 20-year-old foreign woman after meeting her at Hard Rock Café.
The year before that he was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
On Tuesday, Shuler was sentenced by a judge for both charges to 10 years in prison after pleading to an Alford plea, which states a defendant can maintain their innocence while acknowledging there is enough evidence to secure a conviction.
