MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Mullins Fire Rescue have cleared the scene of a natural gas leak in Mullins that had portions of one road closed to traffic.

Mullins Fire Rescue reported that they were on scene of a natural gas leak on East End Street around 12:40 p.m. Saturday.

East End Street was closed between Front Street and Wine Street as units continued to investigate the search of the leak, but the road has been reopened at this time.

Officials on scene say that a SCE&G Regulator Station was struck by a vehicle, but local SCE&G crews have controlled the leak and are awaiting repair crew.

Fire crews will soon be clearing the scene as SCE&G works to repair the situation. The main hazard, however, has been mitigated.

Mullins Fire Rescue said this is the third time this station has been struck, according to SCE&G.
