Highway 701 widening project wrapping up in Horry County
HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A RIDE 3 project to widen Highway 701 is wrapping up in Loris, according to Horry County Government.
The Horry County Government announced on Wednesday that the project widening the north portion of the highway is finishing up.
New and wider turn lanes from Dogwood Street to the Highway 9 interchange were added during the project that began in 2022.

According to the Horry County Government, except for “a few minor punch list items,” the construction is set to wrap up soon.
The lanes of the highway were widened to make room for cyclists and allow pedestrians to walk safely on newly installed sidewalks, Horry County Government said.
