Teen charged with murder in Marion man's death

Posted: Updated:

MARION, S.C. (AP) - Investigators say they have arrested a teen in the killing of a 68-year-old man in Marion.

Marion Police Chief Jim Gray said his officers took 18-year-old Kemonie Jones into custody not long after the fatal shooting Saturday morning.

The Marion County Coroner's Office says Stanley Witek was shot several times at his home and died at the hospital.

Gray says the suspect and victim didn't know each other and investigators are trying to find a motive for the killing.

Jones is charged with murder and intent to deliver marijuana within proximity of a school. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
