Kono serves up Thanksgiving for those in need

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – KONO Japanese Steakhouse in Myrtle Beach served up meals for those less fortunate in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Everything you would expect from Thanksgiving dinner was being offered at the restaurant. Turkey, stuffing, cranberries and even pumpkin pie for dessert were on the menu. The event started at 11 a.m. Thursday. Workers and volunteers want to help make sure everyone has a chance to enjoy the holiday.
"It gives, to them, the same appearance as if they were sitting down at a traditional table with their family because we are all one family. I think that's the importance of it," said Melody Colarusso, a volunteer at the event. "There's so much to be thankful for."
Workers and volunteers also handed out coats that have been donated over the past month to about 50 people. They plan to team up with the Buddha Lounge and make sure people have somewhere to stay warm this winter season.
