The average price of gas in Myrtle Beach fell 15.6 cents over the past week to $3.60 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 197 stations in Myrtle Beach.

Prices are 7.1 cents higher than a month ago and are 91.6 cents higher than a year ago, according to the survey.

GasBuddy reported prices ranging from $3.24 per gallon to $5.79 per gallon across South Carolina, a $2.55 gap.

Neighboring areas also saw gas prices fall over the past week, according to GasBuddy.

South Carolina is averaging $3.66 per gallon, down 13.7 cents from last week, according to the survey.

GasBuddy reported North Carolina is averaging $3.75 per gallon, down 11.8 cents.

Across the nation, the average price of gas fell 9.4 cents from last week to $3.97 per gallon, GasBuddy said.

“Average gasoline prices declined in 48 states over the last week, while diesel prices fell in 46 states, offering a welcome break at pumps,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said.

De Haan added that drivers should be ready for prices to rise again, citing renewed volatility in oil markets that could impact gas and diesel in the days ahead.
