Dog rescued from Horry County house fire with significant damage reported
HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A dog was rescued from a Longs-area house fire with significant damage, HCFR reports.
Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched around 12:15 p.m. to the area of West Highway 9 near Crown Meadows Drive regarding a house fire.

According to HCFR, the home sustained significant damage.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation on the scene but was not transported to the hospital, HCFR said. Fire rescue also said that a dog was rescued from the home and is expected to be okay.
As a response, HCFR had one Loris-bound lane of West Highway 9 blocked.
South Carolina Highway Patrol, Horry County police and the Loris Fire Department are assisting on the scene.
The public is being asked to avoid the area for the safety of those on the scene and to avoid delays.
