‘We’re not done’: Florence County Operation Spring Cleaning results in more than 30 arrests

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Florence County Sheriff’s Office launched Operation Spring Cleaning, resulting in more than 30 arrests.

The two-day operation began on Friday, March 6.

“Sometimes you just need to do some Spring Cleaning,” Florence County Sheriff TJ Joye says. “We’re not done yet, but we are off to a good start.”

Joye says a proactive enforcement was conducted in high-crime areas of the County.

More than 43 personnel from multiple agencies, including the FCSO Special Operations Bureau, Criminal Investigations, Aviation Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Criminal Enforcement Unit, Narcotics Bureau, and Uniform Patrol, along with the City of Florence Police Department and SLED, were involved in the operation.

The operation resulted in 33 arrests involving illegal narcotics, firearms violations, stolen vehicles, and driving under the influence charges.

An additional 12 wanted suspects were taken into custody.

The operation also produced four vehicle pursuits, the recovery of three stolen vehicles, and 52 citations.
