FIRST ALERT - Nice weekend, Cold air arrives next week
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Slightly cooler temperatures settle in today before warmth returns this weekend. Much colder weather arrives to kick off 2026.
THIS WEEKEND
Warmth returns once again on Saturday as temperatures soar. After starting the day in the 50s, afternoon readings will reach the middle to upper 70s inland and lower 70s along the Grand Strand. Mostly sunny skies will continue.

Sunday will see mild temperatures, although a few degrees cooler than Saturday, with afternoon highs in the 60s to near 70.
TURNING COLDER
Warmth will continue for one last day on Monday as afternoon highs return to the 70s.
A strong cold front will approach the area late in the day and may spark off a very isolated shower, especially inland.
As the front blows through Monday night, much colder air will settle in. Temperatures will drop from the 70s Monday afternoon into the 30s Monday night.
By Tuesday afternoon, highs will only reach the upper 40s.

NEW YEARS FORECAST
Chilly weather will remain in place to kick off the New Year. New Year’s Eve will be cool with afternoon temperatures near 50.
Temperatures New Year’s Eve night will quickly drop through the 40s and into the 30s.

The cooler weather will linger into New Year’s Day with afternoon temperatures near 50.
