‘It went up quickly’: Fire destroys Horry County home
HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Monday fire destroyed a home in the Carolina Forest area.
Horry County Fire Rescue responded at 1:30 p.m. to the house fire on Brogdon Drive near Gardner Lacy Road.
A viewer sent a video of the blaze.
At 3 p.m., crews brought the fire under control.
Along with destroying the home, the fire left a nearby house with “exterior heat damage” and damaged a vehicle, Horry County Fire Rescue said.

One person was treated for injuries at the scene but declined to go to the hospital.
The fire left three people displaced, and the Red Cross will offer them assistance.
A witness said she called 911 after seeing smoke from the house in her backyard.
She also witnessed someone running to and from the house trying to get items out.
“I was just worried about the houses next door and that the man gets out,” Casie Grasso said. “It was scary; it went up quickly.”
The Conway Fire Department and the Horry County Police Department helped at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
