Coastal Carolina baseball to take the field for Conway Regional

CONWAY, SC (WMBF/CCU Athletics) - Coastal Carolina baseball hopes to capitalize on its home-field advantage to start the NCAA Tournament.

CCU takes on Fairfield at 6:06 p.m. Friday in the Conway Regional. Before that, Florida and ECU will play at 12:06 p.m.

Make sure to keep up with the WMBF First Alert Weather Team as storms are expected Friday evening.

TOURNAMENT DETAILS:

Each regional field features four teams, playing in a double-elimination format. All 16 regionals are scheduled to be conducted from Friday, May 30 to Monday, June 2 (if necessary).

For the Conway Regional, CCU is the No. 1 seed, Florida at No. 2, ECU at No. 3 and Fairfield at No. 4.

The NCAA selected CCU as a No. 13 seed overall, which some took issue with.

The Conway Regional is paired with the Auburn Regional hosted by No. 4 overall seed Auburn. That field also includes No. 2 seed NC State, No. 3 seed Stetson and No. 4 seed Central Connecticut State.

Saturday, May 31

• Game Three: 12:06 p.m. ET — Loser Game One vs. Loser Game Two
• Game Four: 6:06 p.m. ET — Winner Game One vs. Winner Game Two

Sunday, June 1

• Game Five: 12:06 p.m. ET — Loser Game Four vs. Winner Game Three
• Game Six: 6:06 p.m. ET — Winner Game Four vs. Winner Game Five

Monday, June 2

• Game Seven (if necessary): TBA — Winner Game Six vs. Loser Game Six

This is the sixth NCAA regional that CCU has hosted in its program history.
