Police investigating armed robbery in Myrtle Beach area

Authorities in the Grand Strand are investigating a reported carjacking.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Authorities in the Grand Strand are investigating a reported carjacking.

The Horry County Police Department says on Tuesday, officers responded to a carjacking call on Luster Leaf Circle.

Police said when they met with the victim, he said he was meeting up with friends at an Airbnb.

Three people whom he didn’t know then reportedly took his rental car at gunpoint.

HCPD says the rental car was then located at an empty lot on Carver Street and it had been disabled.

The victim also told officers that a suspect reportedly took the gold grills from his mouth during the robbery.

No one has been arrested at this time.
