4 detained after police chase in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - An early Sunday morning police chase in Horry County left four people detained.

The Horry County Police Department says that around 1:10 a.m., a Ford Fusion drove away from an attempted traffic stop near Highway 17 Bypass and Robert Grissom Parkway.

During the chase, officers reportedly witnessed multiple items being tossed from inside the vehicle.

Officers say they used stop sticks, then a Grappler police tool to stop the vehicle.

HCPD says suspected drugs have been located at the scene.

There is no risk to the community.
