Man accused of opening fire in parking lot of Myrtle Beach inn
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - A man is behind bars after allegedly opening fire in the parking lot of a Myrtle Beach inn earlier this month.
Records show 29-year-old Marquise Williams was arrested this week and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A police report obtained by WMBF News states Williams’s arrest is linked to an incident on April 2. According to the report, the Myrtle Beach Police Department was called to the area of 14th Avenue South and Kings Highway after reports of multiple gunshots.
Witnesses told police that someone fired multiple rounds in the parking lot of the South Bay Inn. A witness also said they saw the suspect, later identified as Williams, open fire but didn’t know who or where he was shooting at.
Officers were also told Williams allegedly ran from the hotel toward Kings Highway after he was done shooting.
Documents note police found multiple shell casings in the South Bay Inn parking lot as well as the parking lot of the neighboring Days Inn. A firearm was also reportedly found behind the nearby Summer Sands motel.
Williams was arrested and charged on April 21.
As of Thursday, records show he remains held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center with a $50,000 bond.
