N.C. man pleads guilty to drug, gun charges in Horry County
HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A North Carolina man will spend the next decade in prison.
The 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said that Travis Jackson, 31, of Tabor City, N.C., pleaded guilty on Wednesday to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a stolen firearm.

The charges stem from a chase prosecutors said Jackson led Horry County police on in August of 2022.
During the short chase, prosecutors said officers saw Jackson throw out a bag of pills that tested positive for methamphetamine, a bag of powder and a cup of brown chunky material that both tested positive for fentanyl and a handgun reported stolen out of Columbus County, N.C.
“The Solicitor’s Office would like to thank the officers of the Horry County Police Department’s Street Crimes division for not only their work on this case, but for everything they do to help keep our county safe,” David Beamer, the assistant solicitor who prosecuted the case, said.
A judge sentenced Jackson to 10 years on each of his drug offenses and five years in prison on the firearm charge, and the sentences will run at the same time.
