‘My life changed’: Myrtle Beach woman searches for Good Samaritans who helped her after crash
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - A Myrtle Beach woman is searching for two Good Samaritans who helped rescue her and her boyfriend from a ditch after their car crashed on Saturday night.
Brianna Weiss told WMBF News she was driving on Dick Pond Road in Socastee just after 8 p.m. on Saturday when someone side-swiped her car.
She said the vehicle flipped over twice before landing in a ditch off the side of the road.
“The next thing I know I’m just upside down and I don’t know where I am, I don’t know what happened,” Weiss said.
Weiss said she and her boyfriend, as well as his cat and dog, all managed to slip out the passenger side door.
That’s when she said they were greeted by some unlikely heroes.
“There were just these two women who pulled me up and out of the ditch,” Weiss said. “They were just like heavenly to me. It was just nice to have someone there to help me.”
Weiss said the women had been following the woman who eventually hit her for several minutes because they noticed the car had been driving erratically.
The other driver, Amanda Lynne Crutcher, was charged with driving under the influence and is currently out on bond.
Meanwhile, Weiss has been trying to reconnect with the women who helped her. She posted on social media on Sunday asking for them to contact her, but that hasn’t happened as of Monday evening.
“I just want to be able to thank them,” Weiss said. “To have these two women actually stop, rush out of their cars, and help someone they didn’t even know just shows their true character.”
Weiss was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center after the crash and said she and her boyfriend both have minor injuries. But they know things could have been much worse.
“My life changed. Even when I went and saw my car yesterday I started crying,” Weiss said. “Seeing how badly damaged the car was and that I was able to crawl out on my own and be okay blows my mind.”
