MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – He's been one of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans' biggest helpers – not to mention fans – for 10 years, and on Thursday, his service to the club came to an end.
According to a post on the Pelicans' Facebook page, Deuce has served as the team's ball dog since 2008. In addition to running fresh baseballs to the umpires, he's also greeted fans in the pro shop and sprinted around the bases after each team win.
On Thursday, Deuce had his last game with the Pelicans before heading into retirement. He'll now spend his days with his host family.
"Good boy, Deuce."
