Grand Strand to celebrate Fourth of July with fireworks, aerial salute

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Grand Strand will be celebrating America's birthday with a number of fireworks shows this Fourth of July.

Below is a list of fireworks displays that are scheduled for Wednesday:

  • Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach – 9:30 p.m.
  • Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach – 10 p.m.
  • Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach – 10 p.m.
  • Murrells Inlet Marshwalk – 10 p.m.
  • Second Avenue Pier in Myrtle Beach – 10 p.m.

In addition to the nightside pyrotechnic displays, a number of patriotic activities will take place in the hours leading up to the fireworks.

The Independence Day 5K and 8K Run will begin at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in The Market Common.

Murrells Inlet's annual July 4 boat parade will start from Garden City Point at 12 p.m., as long as the tide cooperates. It will run through the inlet, past the marshwalk and south to Morse Park Landing, according to information on the marshwalk website.

The Ninth Annual Salute From the Shore will begin at 1 p.m. at Cherry Grove and head south along the South Carolina coast.

Starting at 6 p.m. and going until 10 is Surfside Beach's Fourth of July celebration, which will take place at the Surfside Beach Pier.
