ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – A woman suffered no visible injuries except for a scraped hand after getting hit by a train Tuesday in the Rowland community, according to Rowland Police Chief John Reaves.
Reaves said the incident happened at North Railroad and Peach streets. The woman, who was crossing the tracks, had just cleared them when she was hit by the corner of the train, according to the chief.
"According to the conductor, she never even looked up at it," Reaves said.
He added the woman was conscious and talking by the time he arrived.
According to Reaves, no charges will be filed by the Rowland Police Department.
