LAKE CITY, SC (WMBF) – Fire crews received a call at 2:13 a.m. Wednesday morning about a fire at ICE Recycling, LLC on 431 Cedar Street, according to Randy Driggers, Chief of the Lake City Fire Department.

When fire crews arrived on the scene the building was burning.

The fire started in bales of plastic and recycled plastic, said Chief Driggers.

Firefighters then removed smoldering barrels, and ICE Recycling employees came in with fork lifts to help.

There is minimal damage to the structure, but a great deal of water damage.

According to Chief Driggers, there are no reported injuries.

Lake City, Olanta, South Lynches, Howe Springs, and Williamsburg County fire crews provided assistance to the fire.

The fire is now contained after three hours.
