MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Nissan Saturday, December 5 for expired tags, which led to the arrest of three men. Guns, meth, cocaine, pills, marijuana and more were all found in the car and on the suspects, according to Myrtle Beach Police reports.
Officers approached the vehicle and smelled an odor of marijuana. The officer ran information on John Thomas Reamsnyder Jr, which came back as wanted, so he was placed in investigative detention along with two other men who had warrants.
Officers asked Reamsnyder if he had any weapons on him, he told police he had a gun in his waistband and said he did not have a concealed weapons permit. Police arrested him for unlawful carry of a pistol.
Upon searching, officers discovered a large clear plastic bag in the right front of the offender's right pants pocket; inside the large bag were several small clear bags containing unknown substances. One of the plastic bags contained a large white rock, which tested positive for cocaine. Another bag contained 7.5 yellow pills identified as hydrocodone, and another bag with orange pills was identified by drugs.com. A small bag containing 20 pink round pills were identified as Dextroamphetamine. A red rock substance was seized and tested for meth and weighed approximately 1.7 grams, and MDMA was also found.
Officers ran the criminal history on Reamsnyder through MBPD, which revealed he had prior conviction for possession of a schedule II narcotic. Police requested warrants for unlawful carry of pistol, 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute schedule II drug 2nd offense, possession with intent to distribute meth 2nd offense, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine 2nd offense, and possession with intent to distribute MDMD 2nd offense.
Officers continued searching and found a book bag that contained large amounts of marijuana. Officers also discovered 2 scales, a glass pipe and several baggies with residue. Officers discovered a firearm identified as a Taurus tracker. 45 caliber revolver that contained 5 rounds. A small clear baggie containing a white power substance was tested positive for cocaine. Police obtained warrants for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, unlawful carry of a pistol and possession of cocaine 2nd offense. The offender was also charged with registration violation, improper display and drug paraphanalia. Two magazines were discovered and contained a total of 13 rounds.
The second offender, identified as Ismael Alvarez was a bartender at Farlos. A can was found in his right pants pocket and inside that can, officers discovered a red wax containing a white powder substance which was tested for MDMA. Also in the can the officers discovered a bag containing a white powdery substance which tested for cocaine. Warrants for Alvarez were requested for possession of MDMD 2nd offense and possession with intent to distribute cocaine 2nd offense. The offender was also wanted for full extradition out of SC for drug related offense.
The third offender, Damon Maurice Sherman, was carrying a firearm with 7 rounds of ammunition and didn't have a concealed weapons permit. He was placed under arrest for unlawful carry of a pistol; four small baggies containing marijuana were found.
Warrants were requested for Sherman, for unlawful carry of a pistol, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, fugitive from justice and was also wanted out of North Carolina and Horry County and felon in possession of a firearm he is prohibited from possessing a firearm because he has extensive criminal history and a fugitive from justice. A warrant was obtained and served for fugitive of justice, warrant for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, warrant for unlawful carry of a pistol, and warrant for felon in possession of a firearm.
In reference to the second offender, Alvarez, officers obtained and served a warrant for possession of MDMA 2nd offense and a warrant for possession with intent to distribute cocaine 2nd offense.
Reamsnyder was obtained and served a warrant for possession with intent to distribute a schedule 1-4 narcotic, possession of MDMA 2nd offense, unlawful carry of a pistol, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine 2nd offense, possession of schedule 1-4 narcotic 2nd offense, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of meth 2nd offense, possession of cocaine 2nd offense and unlawful carry of a pistol.
