PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) - An alligator came ashore Sunday morning in Pawleys Island.
According to the Pawleys Island Police Department on Twitter, an officer and a "nuisance control expert" removed the 7-foot alligator from the shore Sunday morning. Pawleys Island Police said that the Carolina Exterminator company was called in to remove the gator.
Rachel Lankford with the Carolina Exterminator company said she and her daughter Amy Lynn removed the alligator from the beach, and turned it over to an alligator processor, who will use the meat and skin of the reptile. An alligator that size cannot be relocated, per South Carolina law, Lankford said.
Facebook user Rainer Hengst posted video and photos of the gator to his Facebook page, mobile users, view the video here.
