HCPD: Witnesses say drunk man stole truck from bar parking lot, crashed it into building

GALIVANTS FERRY, SC (WMBF) - The Horry County Police Department says officers arrested and charged a man accused of stealing a truck from a bar parking lot while intoxicated and crashing it into the building before fleeing.
Around 10 p.m. Saturday night, officers responded to Easy's Bar & Grill in Galivants Ferry off Highway 501, according to Lt. Denis Raul with the HCPD. The call was regarding an allegedly intoxicated male, identified as 26-year-old Kevin Lightsey.
A bar patron, the victim, said he had been inside eating and left his keys in his truck. He and other people sitting inside told officers suddenly there was a loud bang. Many of them walked outside and said Lightsey was driving the victim's truck. They said Lightsey ran into the building twice and also another parked vehicle.
At that point, Lightsey allegedly fled from the truck and into the woods. Officers started to search for Lightsey, and eventually found tracks that led them to him.
Lightsey was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in excess of $10,000, and two counts of Malicious Damage to Property.
