Resident complaints lead to 2 gambling arrests
FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Responding to resident complaints, Florence Police have jailed two people and confiscated gambling machines.
Florence Police Major Carlos Raines said six machines were confiscated from a building on West Lucas Street; it was a location where you pay electric bills.
Timothy Waters, 47, was arrested and charged with operating a gambling establishment, possession of gambling equipment and simple possession of marijuana.
Officers also went to a BP gas station on West Evans Street where three machines were confiscated. The business received administrative citations.
At a third location on Gregg Avenue, 49-year-old Alva Martin was charged with possession of gambling material and three machines were confiscated.
Martin and Waters will have a bond hearings Thursday.
