MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach Police Department is searching for a man in connection to the credit card fraud of a couple who stayed in Myrtle Beach in September.

The victim contacted the MBPD saying said she and her husband stayed at 2311 S. Ocean Blvd. from September 20 thru September 29. After they returned home from vacation and checked their bank statements, they noticed that a check had been cashed on October 1 at the Branch Banking and Trust Bank at 2619 N. Oak Street in Myrtle Beach.

According to the MBPD report, the victim provided a copy of the check that showed 23-year-old Ramone Whitfield's endorsement on the back of the check, as well as the front.  The victim said her husband's signature was forged, and they do not even use the account anymore.

Police are looking for Whitfield, whose last known address was 620 Council Rd. in Salters, SC. Never attempt to apprehend a fugitive yourself.  The MBPD asks for anyone who knows the whereabouts of Whitfield to please contact them at 843-918-1382.
