Thad Viers indicted on burglary charges

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Thad Viers, former state representative and candidate for the 7th Congressional District, has been indicted on burglary charges.

In a press release from the Solicitor's Office in the Fourth Judicial Circuit, Solicitor Will Rogers explains:

Today, the Horry County Grand Jury returned indictments for Burglary 1st Degree and Petit Larceny against Larkin Thaddeus Taylor Viers for an incident arising out of an incident which occurred on March 20, 2012 in Myrtle Beach. The apartment burglarized belonged to the same victim as the stalking and harassment case for which he was previously indicted.

These indictments are the result of an ongoing investigation of this incident by the Myrtle Beach Police Department and SLED Computer Crimes Center.

Mr. Viers will be arraigned on these indictments next week. Subsequent court appearances and trial dates will be set at a later time.

Thad Viers represented House District 68, but stepped down after being indicted on harassment and stalking charges for incidents involving a former flame. Heather Ammons Crawford won the special election to fill his seat.

House District 68 covers a large portion of the Socastee area, Palmetto Bays and Myrtle Trace.
