SOUTH CAROLINA (WMBF) - The unemployment rate in South Carolina fell again in November, giving Gov. Nikki Haley a lot to smile about.
The unemployment numbers released Friday show the rate fell from 8.6 percent in October to 8.3 percent in November.
Gov. Haley said, "South Carolina is on the move. We're headed in the right direction. But we can't stop now. We're pleased to see our state's unemployment at a four year low, but we understand there is work to do for us to make sure that number continues to drop. And that's where our focus will be in the coming year."
The unemployment rate also showed a decrease in North Carolina, dropping to 9.1 percent from 9.3 percent in October.
During this same time period in 2011, unemployment in North Carolina was at 10.4 percent.
