ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - A man accused in a 2009 murder in Robeson County was charged with the crime the day he was released from jail in another North Carolina county.
Major Howard Branch with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office says 21-year-old Reginald A. Stubbs is charged with the murder of Charles Lewis.
Branch adds that deputies served Stubbs a warrant for first degree murder Thursday afternoon when they picked him up at a Scotland County jail. Stubbs was being released from the prison on a prior conviction.
Stubbs is accused of fatally shooting Lewis at the night club Dru's Place on Sansbury Lane in the Parkton area in December of 2009.
Stubbs is scheduled to make his first court appearance in relation to the murder Friday afternoon. No bond was given by the magistrate judge and it is not expected that Stubbs will be granted bond by the Superior Court judge Friday.
