MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Tara Ledford thought she had found a sweet deal with Vision Airlines on a trip to Ohio to meet her boyfriend's family for the first time.
"We booked [the flight] really cheap so that was nice," Ledford said. "Flying out was the nightmare on Sunday."
Ledford said she hopped on a plane and arrived in Ohio last weekend without a hitch, but the return trip wasn't as pleasant. She said she arrived for her Vision Airlines flight home Sunday night, scheduled to take off just before 8 p.m., only to find out she wouldn't be flying anywhere.
"At 7:55 p.m. there was no plane at the terminal, at 9:30 p.m. they announced there was mechanical issues. Midnight they finally canceled the flight," Ledford said.
Ledford said she was told to come back the next day, but faced similar results when she returned.
"There was mechanical problems, and at that point I left," Ledford said.
Ledford said she drove back to Myrtle Beach so she wouldn't miss any more work, and was frustrated at the poor communication from Vision Airlines, and she was not alone.
Another WMBF News viewer, who chose not speak on camera, says his wife suffered through similar problems with delays and a lack of communication. Myrtle Beach International Airport Director Mike LaPier said he is not worried about the delayed Vision Flights.
"I don't know that I would say one incident or even a couple of incidents is indicative of any concerns we might have," LaPier said. "Vision's relationship with this community and their reliability so far has been pretty good."
The Better Business Bureau has received 44 customer complaints about the Georgia based Vision Airlines in the last three years, eleven in which customers say they were not satisfied with Vision's response to their complaints.
Better Business Bureau records show the company made a good faith effort to solve the problems, and gave the company an "A" rating overall.
One customer landing in Myrtle Beach Wednesday said they were happy with Vision's service and especially their prices.
"I checked several airlines and you can't beat them," the customer said. "It was wonderful, it was an excellent flight."
Ledford said after her experience, however, she would never ride with Vision again.
"Honestly no, I had to get to work, I would pay the extra hundred dollars," Ledford said.
According to Better Business Bureau stats, Vision Airlines has been in business since 1994. The Better Business Bureau has tried to gather more information about Vision Airlines, but the company, to this point, has not responded to those requests.
