Man robbed while walking on Myrtle Beach sidewalk

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach police officers are looking for three men that robbed another man as he was taking a walk.

Police were called to the scene near 407 15th Avenue South around 2:47 a.m. Monday morning. When they arrived, they found the 38-year-old male victim with his clothes torn. The victim told officers he had just been robbed, explaining that he was walking west on 15th Avenue South when three black males with handguns approached him.

According to Myrtle Beach Police reports, one of the suspects jumped out of an SUV and threw the victim to the ground. The incident report states the suspects stole $300 in cash, a $5000 watch, a ring, wallet and identification from the victim.

The victim told police the suspects took off in a dark colored Chevy Avalanche or Cadillac style truck, adding that the truck has North Carolina tags.

Solving this case may prove difficult for detectives. The police report states there were no security cameras or witnesses in the area when the crime occurred. The victim was uninjured during the crime.
