HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Police in Horry County are led on a slow speed chase by a burglary suspect on a moped Sunday afternoon.

According to Lt. Strickland with HCPD, police were responding to a burglary call  at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday on Dirty Branch Road in Conway when they spotted Larry Lilly, heading the opposite direction on Highway 701 on a Moped.

Although the chase went on for several miles, speeds never exceeded 35 miles per hour.

The chase lasted for about 12 miles before Conway Police came in to assist and finally got Lilly to stop. Police say they found plenty of burglary tools, such as saws and drills, and some of the stuff taken from the victim's home.

Lilly was charged with burglary and failure to stop for blue lights. Warrants will be obtained Monday.

HCPD is now looking for a second suspect in that burglary.
