LATTA, SC (WMBF) One man in Latta is looking forward to early retirement after a $2 million Powerball win.

A man in Hartsville says he's been waiting 10 years to see his lucky numbers drawn, and Sunday morning luck was on his side.

With a ticket purchased at The Market Place in Hartsville, this lucky Powerball winner chose the birth dates of his mother, brother, daughter, grandmother and his birthday for Saturday night's drawing, and opted for the $1 PowerPlay to increase his winnings by $1 million.

Crawling into bed Saturday night, he couldn't have imagined waking up a millionaire. Seeing his matching numbers Sunday morning, the winner said he jumped off the couch and ran outside to tell his wife he won the lottery.

"He was as white as a piece of cotton," she said.  "I thought something was wrong."

According to the winner, everything was finally right.

"We're not extravagant people," the winner spoke.

The winner and his wife say the only indulgence with their new money will be a new car, and they plan to use the rest as a nest egg.

They say they cannot thank The Market Pace in Hartsville enough for selling them the winning ticket.

This lucky lottery winner says he will continue to buy lottery tickets, but he will not be on his way to work anymore when he drops by the store.

"I'm calling my boss and letting him know he needs to find someone else," the millionaire said.

The odds of winning $2 MILLION playing Powerball® are 1 in 5,153,633.

The Market Place in Hartsville received a commission of $20,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
