Tim Scott hosts Town Hall meeting Saturday

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) A continuation of the First in the South Presidential Town Hall Series, Congressman Tim Scott will be hosting Bob McDonnell, Virginia Governor and Chairman of the Republican Governors Association, in a Town Hall meeting at Broadway at the Beach Saturday.

Similar to Scott's previous town hall meetings with GOP hopefuls held in Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester and Horry Counties, voters will be given the chance to pose a question to Governor McDonnell in person, but for the first time voters can submit a question online.

Submit your question for Governor McDonnell at www.timstownhall.com.

The 75 minute Town Hall meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan 14 in Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach. Voters can begin seating at 4:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis.

"While Governor McDonnell is not currently a candidate for President, he will play a key role in the 2012 election and beyond. He has a proven record of job creation and keeping taxes low in Virginia - a state the GOP must win in 2012. Our voters are eager to hear his views on the Presidential field, and on how we will defeat President Obama," Congressman Scott said.

"I look forward to joining Congressman Scott in Myrtle Beach this Saturday," said Governor McDonnell.  "Tim is a leading voice in the new wave of bold and innovative conservative leaders who are committed to getting our nation's economy back on track and our fiscal house in order. I look forward to joining him in South Carolina to speak directly with his constituents about the serious challenges facing our nation, and the tremendous opportunities we have to make government smaller and smarter, and get more Americans working again."

"Our country is ready for a new beginning," said Congressman Scott.  "Our Town Hall Series gives South Carolina voters the opportunity to actively participate in that process, and make sure we get it right - as we have done in every Presidential election since choosing Ronald Reagan in 1980."
