Victim identified in fatal Marion County accident

MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident in Marion County Wednesday night.

According to the SCHP website, a pedestrian was hit around 6:21 p.m. Wednesday on US 76 East in Marion County, in front of the Little Pee Dee Manor outside of Mullins.

According to Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson, 50-year-old Alvin D. Graves was struck by a vehicle and killed instantly. The female driver of that vehicle did not stop at the scene, but the driver and car were later discovered by police down the road from where Graves was hit.

It is not known at this time whether charges will be filed against the driver.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate this incident.
