MYRTLE BEACH (WMBF) - Professional basketball is one step closer to heading to the beach in the form of the ABA expansion team South Carolina Warriors.

The Myrtle Beach Convention Center is set to host the first six home games of their season, starting with the Carolina Jaguars on November 18th. The season goes through March, featuring 15 home and 15 road games.

The Convention Center hosted the Coastal Carolina basketball team once in 2010 and hosts the Beach Ball Classic every year.

The team also announced local tryout dates to go along with the August tryout. If you want to be a Warrior, tryouts will be held at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center September 10th and 11th.

Palmetto Dance Starz in Myrtle Beach will hold tryouts for the Warrior Dance Team September 10th.

The team is also still looking for staff members including coaches, promotions, sales and interns.
