Accident shuts down southbound lane of Highway 707

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Horry County Fire Rescue is currently on scene of an accident with reported injuries, which has shut down part of Highway 707 Tuesday morning.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol's website, the accident occurred around 9:15 a.m. in front of Coastal Storage along Highway 707, near Big Block Road.

WMBF News Photographer Ian Dorety was on scene and took several pictures showing the white SUV in a ditch, its hood up and surrounded by brush.

As a result of the accident, Highway 707 South in the area has been closed as units work to clear the accident.

Details surrounding the accident are unknown at this time, including injuries. WMBF News will provide those details as they become available.
