MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Just hours after officially launching her Presidential campaign, Michele Bachmann greeted hundreds of supporters at Broadway at the Beach.

At a campaign rally which lasted for just over an hour, Bachmann greeted supporters and gave a stump speech similar to one being heard in New Hampshire and Iowa.

"I think the people in South Carolina resonate with my message  they understand that I have a  background in the economy," said Bachmann shortly after the event.

South Carolina plays a key role in Presidential primaries as expected to be the third state to host a presidential contest.

"I want to hear her answer questions. I want to know what her plans are for turning the economy around, for creating jobs...getting the economy back on track," said Linda Bush of Loris, just one of several people who showed up at Tuesday's rally.

Bachmann will continue her campaign on Wednesday with two visits in the Charleston area. Recent poll numbers from Iowa show Bachmann pulling a respectable second place behind former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
