Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police are looking for a man suspected of exposing himself to a half dozen people at two different hotels on Monday.
According to police reports, the first incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Monday at the Captain's Quarters, 901 S. Ocean Blvd. Four people visiting from the Cleveland, OH area said the went to the pool area of the hotel and the suspect followed them to the hot tub area and watched them. One of the victims said the suspect was on a cell phone and holding his groin for some time.
The victims reported they moved to another area in doors and witnessed the suspect fondling himself while watching them, and continued to do so even after they saw him.
Around 11:10 p.m. Monday, two women from North Carolina reported a similar incident in which a man whose description matched that of the incident at the Captain's Quarters reported exposed and fondled himself in the pool area of the Compass Cove, 2311 Ocean Blvd.
The victims told officers that the suspect was walking past her room when the victims exited their room to go to the hotel's lazy river. They said the suspect watched them from the time they got into the pool, and exposed himself and began to fondle himself in front of them.
When the women screamed for help, the suspect ran away.
Following the incident at the Compass Cove, several witnesses told investigators they saw the suspect running north on the beach shortly after the incident, but the suspect could not be located.
The suspect at Captain's Quarters is described as a 25-year-old black man standing 5'9" to 6'0" tall, weighing 175-200 pounds with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a gold tooth. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hat, a white and black shirt and black pants.
The suspect at Compass Cove is described as a 25- to 35-year-old black man standing 6' to 6'4" tall and weighing 175-200 pounds. At the time, he was wearing a blue bandana on his head, a black shirt, dark pants and black shoes. The suspect has short-cut black hair, an average build and a dark complexion.
Police believe the suspect in both cases is the same person.
