Deputies add new charges to suspect in deadly Darlington County shooting
DARLINGTON, S.C. (WMBF) - The man authorities say is behind a deadly shooting last week in Darlington County is facing new charges.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office previously charged Jeffrey Booker with murder, grand larceny and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The charges stem from the Feb. 12 shooting of 32-year-old Dylan Larymore off Candy Lane in the Florence area.
DCSO said it’s also now charging Booker with petit larceny and malicious injury to property.
After further investigation, DCSO says it learned Booker stole the gun used in the shooting from a family member’s home on Swinney Drive in the Hartsville area on Feb. 9, leading to the petit larceny charge.
On Feb. 12, the same day as the deadly shooting, Booker stole a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado from a home off of Turnpike Road in the Florence area and drove the car through the home’s wooden fence and metal gate, damaging both, according to DCSO. The agency said this led to the malicious injury to property charge.

A judge set Booker’s bond for the petit larceny charge at $15,000 cash and $5,000 cash for the malicious injury to property charge.
But the judge previously denied Booker’s bond for the previous charges: murder, grand larceny and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, meaning he is still booked at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center as of writing.
