Las Vegas Raiders player unable to stand by himself during sobriety test, arrest report reveals
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KVVU/Gray News) - An arrest report from police in Las Vegas reveals details on the DUI arrest of a player for the Las Vegas Raiders.
KVVU obtained an arrest report detailing the arrest of Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Charles Snowden.
Snowden faces a misdemeanor charge for driving under the influence, according to court records.
According to police, Snowden was found near Rainbow Boulevard and Sunset Road on Monday.
Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle. When officers arrived, the vehicle was locked and officers noticed a man appearing to be asleep inside.
According to the arrest report, the man, later identified as Snowden, would wake up and then fall back asleep without noticing officers.
After about 10 minutes of knocking, the driver woke up again, turned off the car and exited.
Police say Snowden was unsteady on his feet and had to be held up. Police also noticed an unknown smell of an alcohol beverage.
Snowden’s defense attorneys said the player is expected to plead not guilty.
“Mr. Snowden will be entering a not guilty plea and we will respond in court, which is the appropriate forum,” said attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld.
The NFL club also provided a statement:
“The Raiders are aware of the incident involving Charles Snowden and have been in contact with the NFL and local authorities. The club will not comment further as this is a legal matter.”
Snowden is expected to appear in court Tuesday.
