Man arrested after deputies seize fentanyl, cocaine in Pawleys Island
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - A Georgetown County man was arrested after deputies seized several drugs during a bust on Sunday.
The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said 41-year-old Shawn Simmons, of Pawleys Island, faces several pending charges including trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine base and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The sheriff’s office said Simmons’s arrest came after a search warrant was executed on Petigru Road.
Deputies said they found “trafficking amounts of substances that tested positive for fentanyl and cocaine base.” A gun was also seized along with marijuana, digital scales, packing materials and cash.
As of Monday morning, records show Simmons is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center. No bond has been set, and no charges have been officially listed.
