Man pleads guilty to shoe sale-turned-robbery in Myrtle Beach, gets 10 years
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - A man arrested last month for his part in a Myrtle Beach shoe sale-turned-robbery will spend a decade behind bars.
The 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said 22-year-old Saveyon Scurry pleaded guilty Tuesday to counts of armed robbery, strong-armed robbery and trespassing. The plea came before Scurry was set to go to trial later this week.
A judge then sentenced Scurry to 10 years in prison for the robbery charges. Those sentenced will run concurrently and Scurry will have to serve at least 85% of his sentence before being eligible for supervised release.
Scurry was arrested last month after he and a juvenile allegedly pulled out guns during a meetup to sell shoes in Myrtle Beach.
The strong-armed robbery charge was related to an incident that happened in August 2023, prosecutors said.
