Sheriff confirms at least one dead after shooting near Maxton

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WMBF) – An investigation is underway into a deadly shooting in Robeson County.
Sheriff Burnis Wilkins confirmed that deputies, along with homicide and crime scene investigators, are on the scene of a shooting in the area of Highway 130 and Highway 83 just south of Maxton.
It’s not clear at this point how many victims there are.
Wilkins said more information will be released later.
