‘We wish you many more!’: Life-long Myrtle Beach resident honored on her 90th birthday

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – A life-long Myrtle Beach resident was recognized on a very special birthday.

A video staff with the city of Myrtle Beach posted on their Facebook page, Mayor Brenda Bethune is seen reading a proclamation to Tempe Hughes Oehler on Feb. 16 in honor of her 90th birthday.

According to information from the city, Oehler is an accomplished journalist, a retired educator from Myrtle Beach High School, and a former employee with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and the city of Myrtle Beach.

“Happy birthday and we wish you many more!” the city’s Facebook post stated.
